British standards

Michael Smith Switchgear products are fully tested to the latest British and International Standards. These include:

  • BS EN IEC 61439 Part 1: General Rules
  • BS EN IEC 61439 Part 2: Power Switchgear and Controlgear Assemblies.

We have full independent ASTA certification for all switchboards that we manufacture ourselves. This includes ASTA certification for all aspects, from Fault Current Withstand and Temperature Rise limits to IP rating and mechanical operation.
