Emily Smith returns to national programme to speaker to latest graduates

Michael Smith Switchgear director Emily Smith was guest speaker as accountancy professionals graduated from a national programme.

She was invited to speak at the ICAEW’s Women In Leadership Programme Graduation for 2023.

It came two years after Emily herself completed the national programme.

She said: “It was a privilege to be asked to speak following my completion of the programme back in 2021.

“It’s truly inspiring to hear the stories of the women who are leading business and forging careers and fascinating to hear their key takeaways from the programme.”

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) promotes, develops and supports chartered accountants and students.

Emily is one of more than 150,000 members around the world.

The ICAEW’s six-month Women in Leadership programme provides workshops, peer learning, personal assessments and one-on-one coaching or mentoring.

Participants learn essential skills, capabilities and behaviours to harness their personal strengths and translate them into leadership styles to thrive in any environment.

It gives participants the unique opportunity to be mentored by an experienced finance leader from a large listed or private company.
