Sean Smith completes the 2024 marathon in 4 hours and 48 minutes

Managing Director Sean Smith accomplished a feat that had long been on his bucket list - completing the London Marathon!

Without the luxury of proper training, due to various other commitments, Sean admits his approach to the marathon was simple: to run for fun and see how it unfolded.

His main objective was to cross the finish line. The sub-goal was to finish inside the six hour window.

But, to Sean's astonishment and delight, he finished by surpassing his expectations with a time of 4 hours, 48 minutes and 28 seconds!

It meant he had knocked an hour and 10 minutes off his previous marathon PB.

Sean said that it was hard to describe the achievement.

But he admitted that running the 26.2miles (42.2km) wasn't without its challenges.

At around the 30km mark severe cramps set in, he recalls.

It slowed down his pace - until that point he had been on track for a four-hour finish.

Sean navigated the discomfort and crossed the finish line - a moment of triumph that was both humbling and exhilarating.

Sean said that the camaraderie and spirit of London were palpable throughout.

The capital seemed to unite with a singular purpose - to cheer on every participant.

There was consistent support over the entire run, a factor propelling Sean and many others across the finish line.

The marathon has rekindled his passion for distance running.

The sense of community, the personal challenge, and the support have left their mark on him.

As Sean reflects on the experience, he is filled with gratitude -and a new found motivation to continue pushing forward.
